"afterburner' ( model AB) is similar to PA-2 preamp. the difference is, instead of a switch, the unit piggybacks on a pot ( pull-pot engages the boost function - the gain is preset based on the pot rotation ) Its basically a linear gain boost module, adjustable from unity gain to 20 dB details are here: http://emginc.com/downloads/wiringdiagrams/EMG-AB.pdf |

Woohoo I'm on it I'm on it! *jumps up and down as a little girl* The headstock logo is indeed still a bit of a glur, Ive been considering names, colours, finishes... The name should suggest elegance yet a hint of the macabre. Preferably feminine by aftertaste. Let's face it, guitars are females Working names: Le†he Nepenthe Ophelia Lenore |

Devia? Not that bad. I was thinking, did you ever put a logo on the back of the guitar body? Can it be laquered on or sth more rugged? Would be fancy to have a big f.ex. scarlet logo on the back... Would this add much to the pricetag? |

yes, we have painted logos on the back of guitars before. It would go on just over the color coat, but under the lacquer clearcoats. Would be just as rugged as the finish... but if all of your guitars have buckle-rash carved into the bare wood, then it would suffer the same fate cost depends on the exact size and complexity of the design.. could be $50, could be $150 - it all depends! (send me a sketch, i can get you a quote from our logo artist - she returns from her summer holidays next week...) |

im sure this would add quite a bit to the cost but could an design on the back be inlayed (ie in MOP [id expect expensive] or white plastic) wouldnt that be very tough, but id expect a hefty pricetag on crafting and materials | |

I'd like the back/neckthrough style to be similar to that Beastlike King V you unleashed a while back, looks very ergonomic and rounded to me. Also, I have the feeling that a non US Rhoads is quite thick and unhandy, I'd prefer it to be a bit more rounded and ergonomic at the back so it doesn't scrape my ribs all the time |

Dear Michael & rest, I am right now in vast doubt, maybe I do want it to be a 7 string after all... It was 150$ more, right? I am just wondering about the ergonomy of a 7 string RR, if it would feel even weirder. It would enable me to play all our old songs as well though... Hmmhhh... Any tips welcome, I'm puzzled :-/ |

yes thats right... but you need to decide FAST (it may already be too late, if they have selected your wood...) We'd need to make a 7-string variant of that headstock, but thats not hard |

Does the extra charge include the pickup (707) and other bridge? Is the bridge heavy duty, for extreme tremolo work? |

yes, thats the cost of the 'whole upgrade'... extra wood, extra work, extra string, extra tuner, bridge & pickup upgrade. You really need to define what you mean by "extreme" tremolo work - all tremelos are designed to swing back and forth over a finite range of motion... ibut ts how violently you swing them that is the deciding factor on how long they will last |

Hehehe Well one of the things I dislike about my Universe is the fact that the tremolo doesn't "swing" as easy, guess that's just the tension of that extra string that makes it less easy to manipulate. With extreme tremolo I don't mean tearing it up liuke Slayer sometimes does, more Vai-Like tremolo work: using a lot of natural harmonics and being able to manipulate those and pitch them up and down with the trem. What is the estimated work start and time and shipping time? You said something about "it 'll be in your hands by the end of october)? So when do I have to decide to go seven string? The 707 seems to sound good, and Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) uses them so can't really go wrong. If I'd opt for a seven string prolly all specs would be the same and extra's, but with a 707 of course and probably the neck profile (neck itself) of a UNIVERSE Ibanez combined with a Jackson: a tiny bit more rounded on the topNeck surface I'd like Jackson like: sleek, fast and black The entire neck should of course be black. |
