Yes. It's maple. Simply not flamed. Little question: Why you want opaque black body back? Polished body back with satin set-neck is not possible, but satin transparent finish of body back will looks really much better then black! PS. here not works bb-tags like [img], only real html like <img src='link'>. Tonight i will add smileys page to this board. |

Thanks master Sushkov, I have selected the satin neck finish to obtainable a very natural feeling like raw wood. Will satin transparent finish of body back not looks very bright with no contrast to the gold/redburst? Are black body outsides with a transparent body back possible? One complete other thing: can I change the front of the haedstock finish from LPCustom style - MOP "split diamond" to a black one with "Les Girl" and "Girlson" in Gibson style letters in gold? (like "Les Paul" and "Gibson" ons Les Paul standards Headstock) Christophe |

Master Sushkov, thank you for the pics! I think Michael has informed you about the back finish: satin transparent finish of body back will be fine. Thank you for your recommendation! Please also keep in mind the headstock logo change. Did you have done the class 5 tone chambers (for weight reduction)? I can't see chambers on the pics.... Or was it not necessary because the woods are very light? |

Yes, the woods are very light. And i think body without this chumbers will sounds better. Weight difference is about 200 gr. If it's necessary for you, I can reinstall top and drill this holes. It's not big problem, simply I was thinking about sound of your guitar.

Alright, I see your intuition was perfect! Thank you! Of course, the sound of the guitar has first priority and 200gr. are no great difference. I'm not really a great logo art designer but I've done a layout sample for the headstock. What do you think about the "Girlson" logo? Should it be in MOP instead gold? |

All those old gibsons you see like that are actually white MOP, with yellowed lacquer over it (that gives the 'gold pearl' effect over time...) BTW, I just got a shipment of shell from overseas, so we have have gold, white, ivory, orange, black and some very nice PINK pearl now |

Yeah, I sort of gathered... Cool idea, to use trucker's mudflap chrome girls as inlays. A little Hetfield-ish, if you ask me. I must admit that I think "Girlson Les Girl" is a bit "tongue-in-cheek", though. Not my first choice, but of course, it's not my guitar either.

Thank you master Sushkov for the pic! @ Mr. Stein Andersen: You are right,"Girlson Les Girl" is a bit "tongue-in-cheek" but girl is the theme.. before I was thinking about a non logo headstock, since no company donate me a endorsment deal But now I think a little "ass kick" to Gibson would be funny. I'm sure, the "strat" rips cutout would be very comfortable to play the guitar in sedentary positions. @ Patrick: Is Tommy Lee one of the Motley Crue guys? BTW: the girl inlay samples on the specs. are taken of my Jackson custom shop guitar. Build by Tim Wilson of Jackson. This is the same guy who has done the custom guitars for Joey Z. of LOA. I d'like LOA very much, especial the first two albums. |

STATUS UPDATE: Its coming along NICELY. but Sushkov is concerned that standard trapezoid inlays will be too large, and visually "overpower" the girls. We laid some perloid ones on the fretboard, and took pics so you could have a look... (also, check yer email for pics later) |

More girls !!! Looks like he has a point to me. Just good old dots wouldnt look to bad or go all feminen and have them female signs ( the circels with the cross on the bottom ) to go between the chick inlays then it will be totaly girly |

Yes, Sushkov is right! The trapezoid inlays would overpower the girls. Thanks to reconsider this! I think "hollow" trapezoids are still to heavy... simple dots to dry. I created a new idea for the inlays. My first choice would be with stars. I think it's adequate for this glamour- girl-guitar |
