Exactly ;)

I ended up trading the leftover flame maple for them, there is enough left for a bookmatched LP top.

Thank you Shamray! :)

They're a relatively small but up and coming company based in Devon, England. Actually my dad first made me aware of them, he lives about 20 minutes from the factory. They hand-wind every pickup using supposedly the best materials available.

I've only tried the Warpig myself in a friends LP, but it was a huge improvement over the stock Gibson pickups. VERY hot, great for really heavy riffing, yet warm and airy with good definition, just a really sweet pickup. Played it alongside my own SD JB equiped LP and it blew it away in every way, wheather playing distorted or with mild overdrive, or clean for that matter.

Only downside appears to be the price, but considering how much the pickups define a guitars tone I'd say they're well worth it.

Tell me anything about dimentions of these pickups. Are they similar with seymour or dimarzio? I must know it before routings.

SO far, the word is they are "STANDARD 50mm string spacing humbuckers", normal in every way, exact replacement size for gibson humbucker...

However, I've asked that NO ROUTING be done before they arrive, because it would be so frigging typical that something is indeed different, and the routing ends up wrong.

Hopefully Stepanov has gotten around to ordering them by now, or?

That looks nice, but I think you're right, it needs to be a little more purple. I like the more pale purple look, like in these pics. If you could get that colour that would be great.

If you could try out some different versions you like and perhaps take some pictures that show off the colour (preferably outdoors) so I could have a look I'd really appreciate it. :)

Those new pics of the inlays are sligthly better then the others, and I think they'll help you out in making it look like the original.

Please just make paper drawings first though, I might want to tweak a thing here and there and I don't want you to have to spend time on making the actual inlays and then end up not using them. ;)

I'll e-mail Michael and remind him to forward the pics to you.

Well, it's 4am and I can't sleep. :(

Sushkov, the inlays look pretty good, especially that first wolf, I really do like it, but for some reason it just doesn't feel quite right. The problem is I can't quite put my finger on what it is that's bothering me.

I've tried doing some drawings of my own, but those don't come out the way I want them either.

And the thing is, now that I've found some decent pics of the real inlay I don't really think it looks that great up close either.

I've thought a lot about it these last couple of days, and I'm now realising that I made a mistake in choosing this inlay in the first place.

I hate to have to tell you this, especially as you've already started working on it, but better now before you spend any more time and effort on it.

If at all possible I would really like to go with another inlay, one that you've already worked on before. I'm refering to the "bat" inlay you did on the "Tanswell Custom". It would still be done in mother of pearl of course and not abalone as on that guitar, but I'd still like the engraving done.

I was seriously considering it before I decided on the "wolf" inlay and I could have gone either way, but unfortunatly I decided on the wrong one.

I realise I'm putting you on the spot here, but in the end I think I'm saving both of us a lot of headache this way.

You won't have to spend all that time doing different drawings and such and can instead go straight to working on the inlay, and I get an inlay I KNOW I really like.

Please get back to me as soon as you read this and let me know your thoughts.

And once again, I'm REALLY sorry I couldn't tell you this before you started working on it... :(

I think the inlay looks good so far, and once the extra details are done to the inlays (shading etc) I think it will look excellent, but theres no use staying with an inlay you dont like whether it be excellent or not. Hopefully the guys will understand where your coming from and not charge you TOO much for the re-do. :)

I was planned to finish wood, inlays and laquer works of your guitar in this year.

I can't accept your updates. And there are 2 reasons for it.

First, it crashes all my plans.

Second, we have no more large abalone shells to make inlays like Gary's bats. Those shells I've get at Black Sea last summer.

That's ok Sushkov, I understand. It's my mistake after all, not yours. I really am sorry for making you work so hard on it.

But, I'm afraid it just isn't working for me, and then I don't think there's any point in using them.

So, lets forget about the inlays, leave the fingerboard as it is, a clean ebony board without inlays looks really cool as well, so lets go with that then.

Let's focus on nailing that colour for the flame maple instead, I'm looking forward to see what you can come up with. ;)

That colour looks great! But what's up with all the yellow in the picture? Is it just that the wood hasn't absorbed the colour that well? It won't end up like that on the guitar right? The actual tone of purple looks really good though!

Yes I know, it's just that the yellow maple seems to be shining through a lot more in the last pic then in the first ones. It might be that the surface has been sanded down though so the colour doesn't absorb as well.

Never mind, I really like that colour, lets go with it! :)

Jonas the lights in the shop in no way show what the guitar will really look like. I seen it with both of my guitars !! And i promise you the way it will look when you have it home will be the better one !

Just an example of my silverburst .... no need to say which one was taken under shop lights :)

Yea, I know that too. I had CS-0057 at home for about a month after all. I was refering to the fact that it looked like the dye wasn't evenly absorbed by the wood. But it's just a test example, so it doesn't really matter as long as it'll come out ok on the actuall guitar. But I'm sure it will.
