the 'sealer' coat actually gets sanded COMPLETELY off in the next step, so the stain has no problem penetrating the wood. Its job is only to fill deeper than normal pores in the wood, so that pigment doesnt accumulate in them when it gets the color coat. It seems awfully labour intensive (and it is!) but it does ensure a smoother, more even finish in the long run... |

This afternoon, I personally ordered another bridge for you direct from the Hipshot factory in New York - and they will send it out "Global Priority Mail". So, if it doesnt get stuck in customs (cross your fingers!) then it could be here in a week or so... |
