The other one is not ready yet  ....its the CS 0068....and its basicly a 55 P-Bass with an extra J-Bass pickup & some other visual gadgets....also crafted by Maxim.

update: completing work WONT start before the holidays. but our completing guy Dima will be cutting short HIS holidays, and coming in on the 4th of January, rather than the 10th. So, CS-0067 completion is slated to get underway on the 4th of January. |

It seems the clearcoat has to be re-done....reason is it had sunk too much into the wood....heres the body sanded & ready for respray. Also the headstock with Sperzels mounted. | |||||||||

Oh bummer ! Thats a little setback.. Can someone explain the sinking of the clearcoat into the wood to me ? Actualy i am wondering when that occurs how do you extract it again ? just by sanding ? |

A really thin nitro lacquer finish (as found on all the 'old vintage guitars') naturally "sinks in" over time, and you can almost feel the woodgrain through it! This one sank in a little too fast for our liking. The solution is simply to polish it out, but in this case, the lacquer was so thin that polishing didnt level it 100%. But any more polishing and he might have cut through the color coat - so the decision was made to buff the whole body out - to prep it for an extra (thin) layer of lacquer. "better safe than sorry"... |

Very nice ! Black teles just scream for white bindings imo  . I also like it on some sunbursts. Al other teles should be left unbinded lol. Hopefully it will be in The Hague soon Paul.

Looks great !! 1 thing though....is that pickguard gonna fit propperly ? specialy at the top of the horn there seems to be a gap and not much room to shift it up since the guard is allready over the pickups ? | |

Not the lasso-swinging cow manure on his boots-kind of cowboy, mind you, but more the classy silver plated revolver-toting, flat brimmed stetson, gunslinger variety! This is the kind of guitar I'd expect Johnny Cash to have wanted if he were to make an extra effort to impress/look good! One of my absolute favourite Shamrays indeed! The middle pickup-case will be changed for a "closed" white one (by me - when its here)so the polepieces wont be exposed anymore (thats why theyre so flat)....so from a little distance it'll look like a conventional 2 pickup Tele....I hope.... | |||

Nothing wrong with the string spacing - those brass saddles have no "notches", and i had moved one of the strings a little sideways before taking pictures (to flick away a big wood chip that was stuck to the pickup cover). I just neglected to slide them back into position before i took the pics... |

A nice surprise : when I was tweaking the Tele (I'm an awfull nitpicker...)I found out that Chernyshev made me a very special custom mid-pickup...have you ever seen this ? Because I'll have the pup in a closed cover with flat as possible pole pieces he thought to give it a little more magnetic "ooomph" and maximize the sound (no dropouts during string bending). Great job...b.t.w. all his pickups sound awsome , also the pups he made for my 55 P-Bass ! |

On its way to perfection (whatever that may be..) here's its matching neckplate....still waiting for a closed pickupcover & a chrome switch-tip... When its ready to my taste and desire I'll place some "final" pics and a review here ! For the record : its just very small things I'm working at...the guitar is an incredible piece of craftsmanship...neck plays like butter...pickups are the best...super lightweight body.... |

Got the missing parts....and fitted them. Also cleaned up the inside of the F-hole...that was a bad case of not masking it up during the paint-job...put some serious time into that job -even had to make a special tool ; but this is the way I think it should be (look)visible bare wood ! Those lightweight Sperzels are really great tuners..wish they had 'm years ago.... Now where did I hide those strings..... |
