Congratulations Kota, on the birth of your new Shamray Custom Shop guitar (serial number CS 0055)! We will post pictures of it's construction-in-progress from time to time here in this thread For the curious, here are the specs on CS 0055: Detailed specification of Guitar: CS-0055 ‘KKustom24” model - PRS custom 24 replica, Mahogany body & neck (NECK-THRU-BODY design). 25 inch scale. colour - violin amber burst with matching head stock (matched to the back and neck colour) – (exact color to be decided before finishing) top - Instrument grade curly maple (flame/quilt) Top budget $350, actual top to be approved from photos bridge - Tune-o-matic bridge (gotoh, nickle) pickups - Chernishev humbuckers, nickle covers (pickup details to be specified) neck - heel-less neck (neck thru), rosewood fingerboard with 10 inch radius fretboard inlays - custom MOP inlays (new style, like 513s) headstock - custom MOP logo on head stock (new style, like modern eagle) tuners - sperzel locking, (brushed chrome) wiring - toggle switch pickup selector, master volume control, tone control with push pull coil tap for bridge pickup strings – 010 – 046 roundwound case – molded flight case Notes: Neck profile and nut width ‘to be specified’. Hi Sushkov, I have been talking to Michael about the colours already. Could I have a last look at the guitar top before I make the final decision. It is the hardest thing to decide! I think I will go with the Violin Amber Burst but Whale Blue is always in the back of my mind.... |

Top now looks as fiew days ago. We must talk about knobs and p/u selector placement too. It's all work before painting. For more accuracy pickups holes I'll route after first layer of laquer. Post here your comments, I read this board every day. And now will post pics from my own camera. |

Hi, I have already sent pictures of the type of colour I like and I dont like to Michael so that you get a good idea of what i am looking for :). I think he will be forwarding them to you soon, I have just emailed him again. I would like the knob/selector positioning to remain the same as PRSs provided the T-O-M bridge doesnt get in the way. If it does, I will need to ask for your advise. |

But I not fully understand specs about headstock. On current neck version I can see only non transparent black painted front of headstock. If you want a cool looking headstok, he must be black painted or maple (or any dark wood) laminated. Like on picture below. | |||

About body colors: yes, I like pictures that you recieved. Its a great violin amber painting. But I can not see any bindings on that pics. It's not real binding on all PRS guitars. It's a simply not painted natural side of maple top. What do you like? Guitar whith light flamed maple binding or whith toned corners?

Hi Sushkov, thanks for the reply. Yes the picture shows the fingerboard inlays I want (it is from the PRS 513). For the headstock i was looking for the Modern Eagle, which is something like this. I do think the private stock type headstock inlay is fantastic but i thought the Modern Eagle ones matched the 513 ingerboard inlays better. | |||

the top in question (2nd above) looks like it does have faux bindings, but but they are either shaded like the burst edge ( just a shade or two lighter) or else the entire guitar has a fairly dark tinted clearcoat | |

I'll make a new eagle tomorrow. And headstock will be darkwood laminated. May be rosewood if I'll found, may be venge. Tomorrow I'll post here anything about. Colors you posted I'd like the upper guitar - a reach amber and wonderfull deep burst. And binding like at this guitar will looks great. 24 fret - for your choice. It can be empty, or a little pearl line with serial number or any other thing like your initials or Shamray Custom Shop logo. |

Don't worry. Abalone pieces are glued inside. If you want I can install frets 2.8 mm - it's higher than standart gibson or fender frets. What fret size do you you prefer? In custom order is not noticed fret size. | |

hmm good question.. what fret size...hadnt really thought about it, but Im used to playing on my '64 fender jaguar (not sure what they used...). what are the fret size for PRS, Gibsons and Fenders? I can make a decision on that... thanks | |

PRS uses "medium jumbo", as do most modern Gibson and Fender guitars. OLD fenders (like your 64 jaguar) used a thinner "vintage" fretwire. | |

Hi Sushkov, yes the flames are looking nicer. please update me with pictures of every step Hi Alevtina, i agree these guys are good.Hi Orpheo, yes i think the final colour will be Violin Amber Burst....presumably this is a base colour so there are couple more steps before the final colour. Im leaving Sushkov with the small details about colour as he knows best, and he knows what i want. |

Sure, which ever method you like to mark your baby:) signature, logo, fingerprints...on the headstock, inside the electronics cavity...you chose:) The DS logo looks quite nice. If you can find a good place on the back of the headstock, go for it. I have a clip-on tuner which clips on to the headstock... i might have to stop using it because i dont want the logo to rub off....

Suskov's personal monogram can go on the back of the headstock, along with the Shamray Custom Shop logo, and the serial number. All of that artwork is protected by clearcoat lacquer, so it will never rub off! |

Knobs and control cavity cover arent installed yet, but I did the play testing and preliminary inspection today... it passed with FLYING COLORS! What a great guitar, you are gonna love it. Super nice feel, easy to play (like all of our guitars!) and really excellent tones.I'll give Sushkov 5 stars on this one, its another masterpiece! |

I compress video with XviD codec. To view any media without problems download anywhere the K-Lite codec pack. It contains all audio/video codecs and the best video players - BS Player and Media Player classic - all in one installer. | |

Get mplayer for mac. Shouldn't be a problem to watch xvid on a mac... have a look at: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/dload.html Look for the Mac OS X link. I'm sure there are tens of other apps too. Have a look at http://www.versiontracker.com |
