Congratulations Peter, on the birth of your new Shamray Custom Shop guitar (serial number CS 0666)! For the curious, here are the specs on CS 0666: Detailed specification of Guitar: CS-0666 ‘BEAST’
Neck-thru-body BEAST style w/bookmatch-to-center Instrument grade figured maple top. 25.5” scale length, 24 frets. Body: Mahogany body. INSTRUMENT GRADE figured top Binding: No binding on body, headstock, or fretboard. Headstock has figured maple cap (same wood as body). Hardware: Black Schaller Floyd Rose, Black Schaller locking machine heads, Black Schaller locking nut. Black Strap-locks Electronics: Neck volume w/ pull-pot for 89 mode, Tone (foil capacitor), direct side mounted (switchcraft) barrel jack, Schaller 3-way toggle switch, Dual battery boxes (separate battery for side dot markers), 100% Shielding. aaaaah, ok. I'm looking forward to the end result. I'm one of the few persons who's allowed to play Peter's guitar when it's finished I'm also the one who told Peter about Shamray and went along to Marcel Haan. What I've seen of Shamray guitars looks, and even more important, sounds great with excellent playability. I'll maybe order a shamray guitar in the future, when I have the money. I just moved and all my money went into my new home. greets |

I talked to Shamray today, apparently the problem is indeed due to Sataev's big backlog of work (and the unfortunate timing of Summer holidays). All kinds of problems have conspired to delay the guitars he was supposed to have finished a month ago - thats the 'human factor' inherent in hand-building of guitars. Shamray told me today that work on your guitar will not start until 0024, 0037, and 0046 are done. He expects that work will actually get underway on your guitar August 1st. I was informed today that they have already rough-cut the maple top wood, but they were concerned about it possibly cupping, (shop humidit yhas been running as high as 95% lately) and thats why i havent seen it in the shop for the last few weeks... they dont want to do the actual bookmatching until it has seasoned for another week or so (its over in the wood drying building at the moment). So, it will be another week or so before i can show you the top bookmatch. |

A bit disappointing but there's nothing to do but wait again and hoping that the builing will not be delayed any longer than it allready has. Cause I allready start getting comments that I made the wrong choice by choosing Shamray to build my guitar. |

Yes it's a pity but as they say: Good work takes time. And everyone wants a good ( I mean the best) guitar. Quallity comes first and yes Gerjo I share the same thoughts that this guitar will turn out better by Shamray than anywhere else.

I agree as well , i kinda calculated it would take a bit longer so its ok for me I am only curious what the guitar is gonna be like lol. Meanwhile i got 5 guitars to keep me occupied till the day comes . I'd never want to see quality of building being sacrified to quantity and knowing shamray wont do that is a happy thougt!

the guitar will be "finished" (lacquered) as soon as the body contours are done.. the actual 'completing' (hardware, pickups, etc) should get underway a week or two after that, when the finish is hard enough to be polished. I would guess we'll be heading into setup and play-testing around the middle of November | |

Ik vraag het me ook af net als bij deze gitaar moet ook bij mij de hardware nog worden gemonteerd. Iets zegt me dat het nog wel even gaat duren voor we de gitaren hier hebben zeker als je bedenkt dat de shop volgende maand de hele maand dicht is! He Michael, On another ductch forum, where I show the progress of Peter's guitar, they wonder (and now me also) why the holes for the tuners haven't been made before lacquering the headstock. They think that the finish will be damaged when it's done after lacquering. Greetz, Gerjo |

Yes, and we also use GOOD LACQUER (the best nitro lacquer!) ...and, think about it - if you drill the holes BEFORE lacquering, then you get LACQUER in them, which kind of defeats the purpose of drilling precision holes... |

I hope so. If she plays like she looks, ohh man!! I had an image off my dreamguitar in my head but Shamray has definitly improved it to the max and realised it. | |

Yes people, I'm the happiest man on the planet!!! I received my Beast today and I must say I am totaly blown away by this beauty. The sound is Monstrous. She looks amaizing. And the feel is perfect, nice and fast. I would like to thanks Michael, Sataev, Dima and everybody involved in this project. An outstanding job done!!! I'll try to post some pictures soon, but I must play some more now .
