Congratulations Jens, on the birth of your new Shamray Custom Shop instrument (serial number CS 3001)! We will post pictures of it's construction-in-progress from time to time here in this thread. For the curious, here are the specs on CS 3001: CUSTOM 6-STRING - RIGHT HANDED, design replicating “EXP” (see pics) Construction Method: Complex body shape set neck Material for neck: hard maple Neck profile: THIN-U, 20.2mm @nut, 22mm @12th fret Neck features: Standard 3-piece laminate (with angled headstock) Material for fretboard: Ebony ( width 42.5mm @ nut, 56mm at end) with 12 inch radius Frets: Sintoms "6100" (medium tall, AKA "Jumbo") Nut: Graph-tech Fret markers: Dots, mother-of-pearl Fretboard binding: unbound fretboard Truss rod cover: black/white plastic 1-screw BELL style (flat on one side, see pics) Side markers: white Mother of Pearl dots Logo: “EXP Custom” done in black/gold 'ESP' font style, with serial number & SCS logo on back of headstock Body wood: African Mahogany (light weight) Body binding: Without binding Finish: Nitro “white” (ivory, not bright white) Headstock Overlay: Matching body color Tone Chambers: no tone chambers (solidbody) Scale Length: 24.75 inches Strings: 52-10 (Ernie Ball 2215 Slinky Top Heavy-Bottom) GUITAR TUNED DOWN A WHOLE STEP TO D Machine heads: Sperzel (locking) satin black String-tree: No string trees Neck Attachment: Not Applicable! Ryitm`an, looks like you`re a real Explorer-Fan, bro! As I am!  The dark ebony-fretboard is really a good choice. It will do a nice contrast to the white laquier. Cant wait for some new pics to post! |

That Neck-heel looks great! I wanted a very accessable Neck on the higher frets. And Dudnik did a great job on that! I am very content!

Yeah the white laquer looks awesome. The yellowing will add some vintage touch, I like that. However I am a little dissatisfied with the position of the Logo. Hopefully that will be changed to my defaults. |

Looking good, the logo fits the headstock more this way. Mistakes are human and it's great that Shamray Inc. repairs the glitches without problems. Just shows how good the service is The axe is looking great Jens, gotta love the exp's

Yes, I have also no problem thereby. It is good to know that everyone is well waived here. The service is top. The guys at Shamray, and particularly Michael, worry much about the satisfaction of their customers. Large praise! Little update: Final clearcoats will be done this weekend!

Today it had STRINGS on it... the only thing left to finish is the wiring! I saw it on the wiring bench TODAY, so i expect it will be ready for inspection when i next visit the shop (which will probably be Thursday or Friday, depending on whats at the post-office...) | |

The Guitar arrived today in best shape! The first impression was overwhelming. It plays very comfortable and the SOUND IS KILLER. Much better than I expected!! First I was disconcerted a little bit with the neck-feeling, cause it has a thin-flat profile and not a thin-U profile which I wanted. And the fret-edges could have been rounded off a little bit more. On the other hand this is the best-sounding guitar which I played ever. Thumbs up.
