Congratulations CocoBolla, on the birth of your new Shamray Custom Shop bass (Serial number CS 0022)! We will post pictures of it's construction-in-progress from time to time here in this thread. For the curious, here are the specs on CS 0022: Detailed specification of Bass: CS-0022 "CocoBolla 5-string" Custom 'warwick thumb-style' long scale 5-string (34 inch scale) (entire instrument to be finished “natural” oil and wax finish)
Body & neck: Body of Bubinga. 4-bolt Neck is 3-piece laminate of wenge. Bubinga control cavity cover Fretboard: 24 frets. EBONY - no fret markers. 10 inch radius. Bone nut Zero fret Side dot markers: mother of pearl Hardware: Custom black bridge & tailpiece, black Sperzel machine heads, black schaller strap locks (recessed) Electronics: Fully Passive System Knobs: black chrome metal knobs Pickups: 2 Chernishev custom humbuckers, bubinga covers (from same wood as top). Case: molded flight case. Strings: medium 45 - 65 - 85 - 105 -130 (roundwound) Special: Shamray headstock logo - inlaid mother-of-pearl Notes: Bottom straplock is offset towards upper bout |

Êëàññíî!! Òóò êàê ðàç ìîÿ ìàìà ïîäâåçëà êîå-êàêèå äåòàëüêè - ìû ñ Ìàéêëîì äîãîâîðèëèñü ïîñòàâèòü ðåçüáîâûå âñòàâêè íà ñîåäèíåíèå ãðèô/êîðïóñ è â îòcåê ýëåêòðîíèêè. Òàêæå ïðèåxàë ïåðåìåííèê áàëàíñîâûé è ðàçíàÿ ìåëî÷ü. Îíà Âàì ïîçâîíèò cåãîäíÿ-çàâòðà. Áóäó æäàòü ôîòîãðàôèé! | |

Cool! Let the secret fish glue do it's magic! BTW, just in case anyone is interested, there were some minor spec changes/additions lately. - Pickup covers will be ebony, not bubinga - Threaded inserts will be used in neck to body connection and for wiring compartment coverplate attachment - This bass will feature a new Shamray bass logo - The control layout will be volume - tone - pan |

Looking good! One can clearly see on the pics how the body halves are glued at a small angle. Now I understand how that concave back is made. Nice wood too! | |

Received the bass and I am pretty exicted! The instrument looks and sounds great! I'd like to say thanks to Alexandr, Michael, Andrey Solomatin and Fydor Chernyshev for their artistic work. Marcus, Sorry for not replying, I was out of town for a while. I paid $1100 for the bass + $64 for a HSC. A relative of mine brought the bass from Moscow to US, so shipping was essentially free. I took some better pictures of the bass, but somehow I can't attach them right now. I will send them to Alexandr and hopefully he'll post them here when his Internet connection is back on. Again, I can't resist to tell how much I love this bass. My bandmates gave me big thumbs up for it's looks and tone. And your bass just looks awesome! The ME-0001 thread was one of the things that actually convinced me to order a bass for myself. I also plan to install TI flats when the factory strings go dull, but these fuckers are expensive here - $54! |

$1100 for your bass was really cheap. I'm accually into ordering a fretted 5 string myself very soon. My ME-0001 really kicks. I've strung it up with Elixir string because it was strung up with some bad D'addario strings. Here in Sweden you can't buy TI Flats so I have to order them from US.. That sucks big time.. |
