Hello Shamray, I'm visiting this site for quite some time now and I'm very impressed by the custom guitarworks!! All your guitars look very good, and I don't doubt it will sound great too.
But I have a question... I build my own guitars, but I would like to know if you sell unfinished bodies and necks? I would love to buy a body and neck from you and finish it myself. I won't mind if there would be burnmarked shamray logos on it or stamps
Thanks,
Alex
P.S. This is the best guitarsite I have ever visited, I love the progress pics!!!

exact price depends on "ALL THE DETAILS"
we need to know about:
1) what kind of wood for body
2) what kind of wood for neck
3) what kind of finish on body
4) what kind of finish on neck
5) what brand and style of tuners - you will need to use some BASS tuners as guitar tuners cannot hold larger than .070 strings!
(i would recommend Hipshot "ULTRALITE" for the fat strings)
6) what string gauges did you have in mind??
You know, there are physical limits to how low you can tune a string and still get acceptable playing action (string tension!)
For 30 inch scale, an 090 string is about the lower limit for a bass E string - probably you will need an 095 or 0100
7) do you prefer low string action ( high string tension) or easy string bending and "rubbery" feel (low string tension??
8) roundwound or flatwound strings?
9) any special personal logo on the headstock or body?
BTW, we cannot buy IBANEZ parts to cannibalize (Ibanez wont sell them to us!)
however, we can get you a very nice made-in-USA 'HIPSHOT' 8-string bridge
(see http://hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=175 )

Yes, it does - which is, in my opinion, a good thing!
After all, I have my guitar built for those extreme tunings, too. So I can understand anyone who wants such a guitar. But I prefer 7-strings due to a more comfortable neck and "easy to get" string-sets. Plus, it is easier to find accesoires as Pick Ups, Bridge systems etc.
You listen to Meshuggah, Michael?

Sure! I listen to EVERYTHING (time permitting!)
Years ago - back on the other side of the planet - i used to design and build commercial recording studios, and I ended up spending pretty much the whole "90s" working as a record producer - for music as diverse as punk, acid jazz, heavy metal, hip-hop, indian classical music, world/reggae fusion and "various other fun stuff". Years before THAT, i was a professional touring musician (and later a session player) progressing during the 70s and 80s through the genres of classical, jazz, country and rock and roll. So yeah, there's not much out there that I DON'T listen to...

VERY diverse! I am trying to broaden my horizons myself, I am mainly a metal player, but I also am in a very serious jazz band and also a funk/jazz/blues fusion band. I am being taught by Rick Waychesko at the moment (a trumpet player for Tower of Power (the first one)) which is a huge honour since he is a musical GENIUS, and despite pushing pretty hard, I am learning a tonne of stuff! Even still, my experience pales in comparrison to yours Michael
MAybe SOMEDAY I can claim such a long list of achievements, but not today!
